Tingle Forest
Read MoreThe tingle and red tingle trees are amazing. They can grown from 45 to 70 meters high, and can be as much as 16 meters in circumference at the base. The red tingle is only found in one small area of the southwest section of Western Australia. They and other tingles date from when the land was attached to the supercontinent of Gondwana. Valley of the Giants, near Walpole, Western Australia.
We also took a walk through the "Ancient Empire," a boardwalk that wandered through the bottom of the forest. That was amazing, too. Another thing about the Tingle is that a lot of the trees have hollows in their bases, sometimes going all the way through to the other side. You could stand in some of the hollows and still look dwarfed. Yet the trees can live up to 400 years. They truly are remarkable trees.
